So you've decided you want to be a work-at-home mom. Here's where to begin.
First: Decide if you want to work for a company or start your own business. Working for a call center is very different from being a social media manager or virtual assistant. Learn about the different types of jobs and what they require.
Here's a podcast episode about a day in the life of a social media manager:
Here's a video from Faith Farris about her life as a virtual assistant and a stay-at-home mom.

Being a virtual assistant, social media manager, or running a business takes having an entrepreneurial spirit. You'll have to go out and get clients. It's doable for anyone. Some people use platforms like UpWork to find clients.
There are videos on YouTube on how to use UpWork well. You can't just create a profile and forget about it. Search "Upwork" in the Work-at-Home Mom's Club Facebook page for tips from moms who have gotten work on the website.
Maybe you don't want to start a business and you want a regular job. Many moms work for call centers. The hard part about this is that it's not as flexible and some jobs don't allow your children to be around.
Some moms tackle this by using headsets with excellent mute functions. There are some call centers that scan the work area to make sure there are no kids. Each one is different.
Here's a video from a mom who works at a cell center from home with her child. Many moms do keep their children with them due to childcare costs.

Here is a list of call center jobs that I found from a Google search.

Make sure you research every job. There are many scams out there asking for personal information and stealing identities. Search "scam" on the board to get an idea of what red flags to look out for (asking to meet on Telegram, bad grammar, email doesn't match the company name, inflated salaries).
There are other companies that moms in the Work-at-Home Mom's Club group work for such as Concentrix and Data Annotation.
Another option is working in your field of expertise. Accounting, nursing, data entry, writing- search online and see what jobs are available. As stated above, large job websites are full of scams. Be careful. Apply directly from the company's website, not a third-party website.
Check out small-mid sized businesses in your area for help they might need.
Finding a work-at-home takes a lot of initiative. You'll really have to go for it whether you are creating a business or working for someone else.
